Woman, 79, helps grandson escape from jail. Now she's in the slammer!!

|

When Michael Rigby, 21, escaped from the Osceola County jail, he ran to his grandmother's residence conveniently located just miles from the corrections facility.

But Regenia Ralph, 79, the grandmother, denied knowing her grandson had escaped when detectives questioned her.

It was later learned that she gave Rigby money, a change of clothes and food before contacting her son, Brian Rigby, who provided Michael Rigby with money and a vehicle, reports WFTV News.

Now, Brian Rigby and Regenia Ralph are taking his place behind bars.

Rigby broke out the toilet and could have kicked out a bigger hole to get outside. He managed to get past the video surveillance and two high fences.

Sources said he took his mattress with him. Authorities think he might have used his mattress to protect him from the barbed wire on the fence.

The escapee has 26 arrests on his record.

Now granny is being held without bond.
