WTF?! Female German singer has unprotected sex with men without warning them she has HIV.

Nadja Benaissa, 28, was speaking at the opening of her trial in the German city of Darmstadt.

"I am so sorry," Ms Benaissa told the court. However, she denied deliberately infecting anyone.

She faces a charge of grievous bodily harm for allegedly infecting one man.

She has also been charged with attempted bodily harm for allegedly having sex with two other men who were not infected.

If convicted, Ms Benaissa faces a prison sentence ranging from six months to 10 years.

After the opening of the trial, German news agency DAPD carried a statement from Ms Benaissa's lawyer admitting she had not handled the HIV virus properly, and conceding she had had unprotected sex.

But the singer said: "No way did I want my partner to be infected."

Aids gala declaration
Ms Benaissa was arrested in Frankfurt last year, shortly before she was due to perform a solo concert, and spent 10 days in custody.

Aids campaigners were critical of the authorities' handling of the arrest and warned against a rush to criminalise the transmission of HIV, the BBC's Tristana Moore reports from Berlin.

According to prosecutors, Ms Benaissa knew she was HIV-positive as early as 1999.

A former lover, who is HIV-positive, has said the singer infected him in 2004 and is due to appear in court in Darmstadt as a co-claimant.

Last November Ms Benaissa appeared at an Aids charity gala in Berlin and openly declared: "My name is Nadja Benaissa, I'm 27 years old, I have a daughter - and I'm HIV-positive."

No Angels were formed in 2000 on the international TV show Popstars, before recording a series of hits and emerging as Germany's most successful girl band.

They re-formed in 2007 and competed in the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, finishing 23rd.

Ms Benaissa's trial is expected to end later this month.

Man Shot 21 Times By NYPD During Wild Harlem Shootout Had $87K Cash At Home As Well As Cocaine And Marijuana!!

"He was dreaming for three days that his son was going to be killed, so imagine what happened when I told him. He could barely speak," said Myrna Soto, the dead man's grandmother.

Meanwhile, federal agents traveled to Georgia to trace the younger Soto's revolver.

"We want to know how this gun got onto the streets of New York," said a source with the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

The ATF, along with two members of the Joint Firearms Task Force, flew to Columbus, Ga., to interview a man who purchased the .38-caliber Smith & Wesson and two other handguns on the same day in 2007.

Police have already determined that the gun was not involved in any crimes before Sunday's shooting.

AJC.com: Thirty thousand people showed up to receive Section 8 housing applications in East Point Wednesday, suffering through hours in the hot sun, angry flare-ups in the crowd and lots of frustration and confusion for a chance to receive a government-subsidized apartment.

The massive event sometimes descended into a chaotic mob scene filled with anger and impatience. Some 62 people needed medical attention and 20 of them were transported to a hospital, authorities said. A baby went into a seizure in the heat and was stabilized at a hospital. People were removed on stretchers and when a throng of people who had been waiting hours in a line were told to move to another line, people started pushing, shoving and cursing, witnesses said. Still, officials of East Point declared the day a success. Nobody was arrested and nobody was seriously injured, they said. It was an assessment roundly challenged by many of the people who had to go through it.

Kim Lemish, executive director of the East Point Housing Authority, said the event marked the first time the city has offered Section 8 housing applications since 2002. The waiting list that lasted eight years had depleted, she said, and the agency was beginning a new one. So people braved all the physical difficulties just to get on a waiting list that could keep them waiting for years.

Lemish said the agency had expected about 10,000 people but three times as many showed up. Many were just accompanying those looking for an application. Some 13,000 applications were handed out.
Concern is rising that a similar scene could occur Thursday when the housing authority of this small city begins accepting the completed applications. Wednesday's event was only to hand out the paperwork. The housing authority will begin accepting applications at 9 a.m.

Some of the crowd waited for two days at the Tri-Cities Plaza shopping center. As the temperature rose Wednesday, people fell ill.

Sgt. Cliff Chandler, spokesman for the East Point Police Department, said a toddler was treated earlier in the morning for "some type of seizure," Chandler said.

"A lot of it was heat and some was health-related issues" such people not taking their medications, Chandler said.

By the time everyone had left around 2 p.m., the temperature had climbed into the low 90s.

East Point police, some wearing riot helmets, were patrolling the area. Firefighters and EMTs were attending to people who were overheating in the sun. Police from College Park, Hapeville, Fulton County and MARTA assisted in crowd control.

Chandler said there were no arrests.

Felecia McGhee told the AJC she arrived around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. She said the major problem began when people started breaking into the line and then officials handing out applications started moving those areas and those line breakers. She said she saw at least two small children trampled when the crowd rushed the building where the applications were to be handed out.

"It's a real mess out here," she said.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Mike Petchenik said fights were breaking out and police had to stop people who were storming the door.

Channel 2 reporter Tom Jones said, “There are thousands, I mean, thousands of people here. I’ve seen people fall out from the heat.”

By late morning the crowd had thinned considerably and people were walking up and getting their applications without delay. But just before the 1 p.m. deadline, a line of about 200 people had formed. Shortly after 1 p.m., several people ran across the parking lot to get in line but were told by police that the line was closed.

Emergency personnel brought in a pickup truck full of bottled water and were handing it out to the crowd.

A sign on the door of the office explained that only applications were being handed out.

"The housing authority will be issuing applications Wednesday, August 11, starting at 9 a.m. Everyone in line by 1 p.m. on the 11th will receive an application. ... No Section 8 vouchers are available at this time. There are no public housing units available at this time. You're applying for the waiting list only."

World's Oldest Sex Toy Found???

And it seems that a recently discovered 6,000–8,000-year-old bone phallus, unearthed on the banks of the Göta Canal near Motala in Sweden's Östergötland province, may have been the world's first dildo.

The phallus is just over 4 inches tall and under an inch in diameter, and the Swedish archaeologists who discovered it are still unsure what the Mesolithic artifact is, but have speculated it may have been used as a sex toy.

Other excavations in the area have uncovered bone and wood objects used for harpooning, and as Swedish archaeologist Dr. Martin Rundkvist points out, "Measuring 12-by-2 centimeters, its size is perhaps not very impressive, and there are many non-dildoish uses for which it may have been intended. But without doubt anyone alive at the time of its making would have seen the penile similarities just as easily as we do today."

There is another contender for world's oldest sex toy: a stone phallus discovered in Ulm, Germany, in 2005, believed to date back 28,000 years.

We're just grateful we live in a time where the Pleasure Chest exists. Neither bone nor stone sounds too appealing.

Man entering courthouse found with 19 bags of marijuana on him, say cops!!!

We're not sure if Ricky Hefflin is a fan of the movie dumb and dumber, but this has to be one of the dumbest idea ever invented in the history of mankind.

The 26-year-old from Atlanta, GA was arrested at the entrance to the Fulton County Courthouse after cops say guards requested he empty his pockets and walk through the security scanner. Perhaps remembering the mistakes of the men he had read about here, Hefflin did not place any Mary Jane in the security tray!

Great job, Ricky!

Instead, he allegedly refused to empty his pockets and stated "I don't have anything." Noticing that he was nervous, deputies searched him, and say they found 19 bags of marijuana. Hefflin was placed under arrest, and is currently in the Fulton County Jail.

So what did we learn here?

While one should not place one's marijuana in the courthouse security tray, it's not QUITE good enough.

You also need to be smart enough to remember the following axiom: you don't need weed in court.

Woman Stabs Boyfriend's Brain with a Stiletto!!!

In case "Single White Female" didn't convince you, here's more proof that stilettos can, in fact, be dangerous -- and to more than your own health.

British woman Staci Hargreaves was riding in a cab with her boyfriend Gavin Thomas, who was in the front seat. They were both pretty smashed apparently, and arguing. Gavin turned around to face Staci, who kicked at him with her 3-inch stiletto clad foot. The heel of her shoe went through his eye, fracturing the socket, and into his brain. GAAAAAAHHHH!

As one does in these situations, Gavin began coughing up blood and lost consciousness. He was sent to the hospital where, after a month, he made a full recovery.

The judge presiding over the trial against Staci informed the jury not to find her guilty, since there was no proof she wasn't acting in self-defense -- Gavin would not offer evidence to support his case, and everybody from the incident was so drunk they couldn't offer a very clear account of what had happened. In fact, a female friend who had been hanging out with them was arrested on the same night for arguing with a different cab driver. (Sounds like an all-around swell group of people.)

So, there you have it -- another story from the annals of drinking to support our argument to wear ballet flats all the time, everywhere. (If you're a girl, that is.)

Grandma-ster! 77-Year-Old Earns Black Belt in Jujitsu!!!

Just because you have white hair doesn't mean you can't earn a black belt.

Ask 77-year-old Ena Mallett, a British grandmother who became the first woman to get a 7th dan black belt in Spirit Combat International jujitsu.

"I might be getting on a bit, but I still get stuck in myself during lessons," she told the press. "I can still deal with any big bloke who comes along."

The 5-foot-6-inch widowed mother of two started practicing martial arts in 1979 to stay in shape, and eventually became a jujitsu instructor in 1987. Today, she teaches classes in the town of South Walsham and works as a crossing guard.

So far, she's taken her moves out of the dojo only once when she spotted a 14-year-old boy shoplifting a packet of mints and put him in a wrist lock.

"It gave him the shock of his life, and he quickly dropped the mints," she said.

Though she's risen to a high rank in her martial art, Mallett says she's not hanging up her belt any time soon.

"I love teaching it, and I certainly have no plans to give it up. I don't see why I should put my feet up."

Dude Claims That Punching and Kicking And Choking His Wife Was Just Part Of His Dance!!!

A Turkish man living in New Zealand said allegations he beat his wife were the result of police misunderstanding a traditional dance. Allaetin Can said outside the court building Thursday in the North Island town of Hawera he, his wife and his two teenage children had been dancing the kolbasti, a Turkish dance originating in the 1930s, in the parking lot outside of their kebab shop to celebrate a profitable day, Britain’s The Daily Telegraph reported Friday. Can said the reported hitting, kicking and strangling a witness reported him perpetrating on his wife, Elmas, were simulated moves that comprise part of the dance. “We are always dancing,” said Can, who pleaded not guilty to an assault charge. The judge ordered police to view a DVD of the kolbasti being performed and then decide whether to push forward with the charge.

This has gotta be the guy right? I mean when I first saw this video I had to pause for a minute to figure out if it was assault or just showmanship. I mean you see some of the things that goes on on the dancefloor? Jamaicans dagger that issh out of broads at their parties and theres that other one where the chick smashes your face right into her buttcheeks. Those moves are all borderline assault too. So I,for one, was all set to give Allaetin Can the benefit of the doubt.

Looks like a bunch of dudes doing cotton eye joe. Like the Indian equivalent of a Neptunes Douche Circle. Crack Dealer Gets Married Right After Hearing on Drug Charges!!!

What better time to get married than when you're standing in front of a judge, handcuffed and in a jumpsuit, for a motions hearing on crack charges? That's what Franklin Barndt did on Friday when he married girlfriend Takesha Piazza.

Franklin Barndt was arrested in December after police found 20 grams of crack in his apartment in Northampton County, Pennsylvania and he is charged with intent to distribute. So when he went before Judge Leonard Zito on Friday for a motions hearing in the case, he had his defense attorney, Gary Asteak arrange a quick wedding. "Love can't wait. Love is immediate and demanding," Asteak told The Express Times.

The motions hearing was handled first, then Judge Zito performed the nuptials. Nasty old Assistant District Attorney Michele Kluk didn't want the couple to seal their vows with a kiss, but the pair did "despite my objection." The bride told the paper she can't wait for Barndt to get out of jail so they can go on a honeymoon, and "I am extremely happy. It turned out to be the best day of my life. I can't wait for him to come home." With Barndt awaiting trial on crack distribution charges, she'll probably be waiting for a long time. Congrats you two!
