Ghana's Win Over U.S. almost causes a riot within the Ghanaian Community!!!

Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg was the site of the second match of the day as the encounter featured a matchup of two of the best team nicknames in the tournament. The Stars & Stripes of the United States versus The Black Stars of Ghana. The latter playing for African pride as the only nation alive in the tournament representing the host continent.

After being the only African Nation to qualify to the round of 16, Ghana's next challenge was to play an uprising and much improved U.S.A. team. If you know anything about soccer and the World cup, the round of 16 is referred to as the "knockout" round, where the winner gets a chance to play in the next round (quarterfinals), while the loser bows their head down in defeat knowing that there won't be another match for them to play. Newspitter and it's crew had the opportunity to cover this game knowing that it was a big game for both nations with the U.S. coming of a miraculous victory over Algeria while the Ghanaian Black Stars are trying to paint their flag all over the globe by being the the first African Nation to go deep into the World Cup and possible winning it all.

Here are some moments that we were able to capture during this fantastic game that had both sides of the nation on the edge of their seats:

Ghana, Africa’s sole surviving nation in the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament, scored first in the game. It was an early goal scored by Portsmouth midfielder Kevin Prince-Boateng. He puts the Black Stars ahead in the fifth minute after picking up the ball from Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Ricardo Clark.

This first goal sent a massive attack uproar within the Ghanaian community as Newspitter was able to capture some key celebrations from dances to possess and musical masterpieces associated with the Ghanaian culture. As you can see by these pictures below the goal made the Ghanaians feel as though they were untouchable and certainly on their way to winning the match.


Just when the Blackstars thought they had the game under hand, one of the Ghanaian defenders committed a silly foul within the 18 yard box which awarded the Stars and Stripes the opportunity to equalize the game. USA trailed Ghana in the first half of their World Cup match, but Landon Donovan scored a penalty kick goal to even the game at 1-1. A yellow-card foul was called on Ghana's Jonathan Mensah against American Clint Dempsey to set up the kick.



As you can see, the only U.S.A fan joyous ride was just begining as he couldnt control himself being the only fan out of all the memebers watching the game but his ride came to an end as Ghana was able to get a go ahead goal in extra time to seal the deal.

Ghana retook the lead over the United States at the World Cup by scoring just two minutes into extra time thus giving them the go-ahead line and winning the game. Scroll down to watch 24-year-old striker Asamoah Gyan give Ghana a 2-1 edge.



This game brought out a massive crowd in the bronx community in NY is where most Ghanaians reside with pride. Newspitter was able to get real close with some of these fans as they were celebrating as if they had already won the world cup. Although it was just an advancement into the quarterfinals, this game was very significant and meaningful to all Ghanaians who are proud of what they are, where they came from and their culture which can be displayed in some of these pictures that we were able to take

Wade, James, Bosh: “talked of splitting Heat cash”

Longtime Miami Heat beat reporter Ira Winderman of the SOUTH FLORIDA SUN-SENTINEL reports Tuesday morning that discussions between Heat free-agent guard Dwyane Wade, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Toronto Raptors forward Chris Bosh have taken place examining how all three could fit under the Miami NBA club’s salary cap.

Newspitter has learned that the three star free agents have gone as far as to acknowledge that it might not be possible for the Heat to clear the needed space to start each of the three at the $16.6 million maximum salary that they would be eligible for in the first year of new contracts.

According to the source, the three have agreed to consider to “split the money up,” if need be. By unloading the $4.96 million 2010-11 salary on the contract of forward Michael Beasley, as well as potentially minimizing the cap hit of the buyout of forward James Jones, the Heat would be on the cusp of being able to extend maximum offers to Wade, James and Bosh. According to Winderman, the trickiest part of the deal appears to be the Heat trading for Bosh:

Bosh could be accommodated in such a scenario by the Heat either sending Beasley to the Raptors or including him in a multiple-team trade that involves Toronto. The Heat also could send draft picks to Toronto, including the Raptors’ future first-round pick the Heat currently holds, as a means of Bosh receiving his maximum contract length. How amenable Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo would be to all that remains to be seen. Colangelo has said in the past week that he was prepared to lose Bosh without receiving compensation.

NFL Star Charged For Smackin' The Bartender Silly!!!s

Cedric Benson, the revived Bengals running back (and former Bear bust and Texas Longhorn legend), has been considered, up to now anyway, somewhat of a second-chance success story in Cincinnati.

But with the news that he was arrested for allegedly punching an Austin, Texas bartender surfacing, it's unlikely that you will hear much sympathy for Benson in the future. And it may tone down the talk about how the Bengals are in really good shape heading into 2010.

That's not saying that one bad apple in what has traditionally been a very rotten bag of fruit can spoil a potential return to the playoffs, but it's certainly not a good sign for Cincinnati when Benson -- who had been actively seeking a new contract from the Bengals -- is getting in trouble before training camp even begins.

The good news is that Benson posted bail and was released from Travis County jail. The bad news is that Benson was supposedly involved in an "altercation" and was being "escorted out" of the bar when he delivered the punch, according to an affidavit.

All of that, coupled with Benson's previous legal troubles while he was with the Bears, means that the running back is likely to get a call from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in the near future

When Will You Hit Menopause? Blood Test May Tell You!!!

Researchers may have found a way to predict the inevitable time when childbearing years have ended and hot flashes become a daily occurrence.

Using a simple blood test, Dr. Fahimeh Ramezani Tehrani and her colleagues have developed a way to determine when a woman will reach menopause -- important information for those who plan to start a family.

To find these results, the researchers took blood samples of 266 women ages 20-49. With these samples, they measured concentrations of the hormone produced by the cells in a woman's ovaries known as anti-Mullerian hormone or AMH, which controls the development of follicles in the ovaries where eggs grow.

The researchers also took blood samples at three yearly intervals and gathered information on the women's socioeconomic status and reproductive history. The women also had physical exams every three years.

From a single measurement of AMH, Tehrani and the other researchers estimated the average age of menopause for women in the study to be about 52, and they identified a model for AMH levels that predicts if a woman is likely to experience early menopause (before the age of 45).

"The results from our study could enable us to make a more realistic assessment of women's reproductive status many years before they reach menopause," Tehrani, president of the Reproductive Endocrinology Department of the Endocrine Research Center, said in a statement. "For example, if a 20-year-old woman has a concentration of serum AMH of 2.8 ng/ml [nanograms per milliliter], we estimate that she will become menopausal between 35-38 years old."

The average difference between the predicted age and the actual age women in the study reached menopause was one-third of a year, with the maximum error being between three and four years.

This is the first study to determine this age prediction using a population-based study.

"Our findings indicate that AMH is capable of specifying a woman's reproductive status more realistically than chronological age per se," Tehrani said, which is important knowledge for doctors in helping women with family planning.

Although these results are promising, more research should be conducted involving more women over a longer period of time, Tehrani said.

Tehrani will present this study at the 26th annual meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Rome, Italy.

Number of Women Without Children Reaches All Time High!!!

The number of American women without children has risen to an all-time high of 1 in 5, a jump since the 1970s when 1 in 10 women ended their childbearing years without having a baby, according to the Pew Research Center.

About 1.9 million women aged 40-44 -- or 18 percent -- were childless in 2008, an 80 percent increase since 1976, when just 580,000 -- 10 percent of those in that age bracket -- had never given birth, the Census Bureau's Current Population Survey shows.

Childlessness has increased across racial and ethnic groups and most education levels, but has dropped among women with advanced degrees in the past decade, according to the research.

Part of the reason for the rise in the number of childless women is an overall pattern toward delaying marriage and having kids, the research showed. Experts say that a drop in societal pressure to be a parent is also responsible for the trend, along with an increase in career opportunities and an improvement in birth control options and effectiveness.

"People put off getting pregnant," said women's health expert Dr. Laura Corio, a member of AOL Health's Medical Advisory Board. "Even when they're married they're putting off getting pregnant. Then they wake up one day and they're 40 and they want to have a child. It's like, hello?"

Explanations for the trend vary, but for some, the reason behind delaying parenting is a simple joie de vivre.

"They're freer. People are enjoying their lives: they're traveling, shopping, eating out," Corio told AOL Health. "Putting a baby into the situation is going to change everything."

Though the most educated women are still among those most likely to never give birth, there was a 31 percent decline in those aged 40-44 with master's, doctoral or professional degrees who had not had babies between 1994 and 2008, when 24 percent of women in that category were childless.

The data represents combined statistics from 2006 and 2008 (referred to as 2008 in the study) and from 1992 and 1994 (referred to as 1994).

White women remain the most likely not to have had a child, but the childless rates have grown more quickly for blacks, Hispanics and Asians over the past decade, according to the figures.

Never-married women still had the highest incidence of childlessness, though those rates also have declined over the past 10 years. By comparison, the childless rates have increased for those who are married or were at one time -- referred to as the "ever-marrieds."

"A lot of women can't find someone, or they're very picky or very educated," Corio said. "Contraception is also better. A lot of pregnancies in the past may have been accidents where they decided to keep the baby. It's also money -- they think, we're not in the financial situation [to have children]."

Among the women aged 40 to 44 without children, the number of those who didn't want to have children equaled the number of those who did but weren't able to conceive, according to figures from the National Survey of Family Growth.

In 2003, about 6 percent of women in that age group were voluntarily childless, 6 percent were involuntarily childless and 2 percent didn't have children but wanted them in the future.

Along with the population changes have come shifts in attitude, with public opinion showing more acceptance of women without children, Pew Research reported. Most adults -- 59 percent in 2002 -- said they disagree with the statement that people who don't have kids "lead empty lives," compared to only 39 percent who didn't agree with the statement in 1988.

Similarly, a 2007 Pew survey showed that 41 percent of adults believe children are important for a successful marriage, down from 65 percent who expressed the same views in 1990.

About 46 percent of people said the trend has no bearing on society, according to a 2009 Pew survey, but 38 percent said it was bad for society -- up from 29 percent in 2007.

'Melrose' Star Amy Locane Charged in Hit and Run Deadly Crash!!!

Melrose Place' actress Amy Locane-Bovenizer has been charged with vehicular homicide following a wine-fueled crash Sunday night in Montgomery, New Jersey, that left one woman dead and a man in critical condition.

Locane-Bovenizer was involved in a hit-and-run collision near Princeton with an unrelated car at around 9 PM Sunday. While attempting to leave the scene of that accident, she slammed her 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe into the passenger side of another vehicle, killing Helene Seeman, the Star-Ledger reports. The driver of the car, Fred Seeman, was flown to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition as of Monday afternoon.

In Princeton, just miles away from the fatal crash in Montgomery, the 38-year-old actress rear-ended a different vehicle, Somerset County Acting Prosecutor A. Peter DeMarco, Jr. said in a statement. Locane-Bovenizer fled the scene when the driver of that car attempted to call for help, so he followed her, telling police that the actress was "swerving and knocking down several mailboxes."

Following the Princeton collision, Locane-Bovenizer drove the 17 miles to Montgomery, where she struck the Seeman's car. Officers on the scene said she had alcohol on her breath and her eyes were bloodshot. She was arrested and taken to a nearby medical center to have her blood-alcohol level tested.

Locane-Bovenizer has been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and third-degree assault by automobile. At her arraignment on Monday afternoon, Superior Court Judge Robert Reed set her bail at $50,000.

She faces 5-10 years in state prison if convicted, and in accordance with state law, she would be required to serve 85 percent of the term without parole.

While in custody, the actress admitted to having several glasses of wine that day. Locane-Bovenizer, who currently resides near the scene of the accidents in central New Jersey, may have been leaving the Off-Broadstreet Theatre in Hopewell, where a play in which she stars had a matinee showing on Sunday.

Locane-Bovenizer starred opposite Johnny Depp in the 1990 film 'Cry-Baby' and had a prominent role in the star-studded 1994 film 'Airheads' with Adam Sandler and Chris Farely. Other acting credits include 'School Ties' with Brendan Fraser and the 2002 indie film 'Secretary,' starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. She is best known for her run as aerobics instructor Sandy Louise Harling on the hit series 'Melrose Place.'

The actress married Mark Bovenizer in 2008 and the couple has two daughters, ages 3 and 1.

SMH: Crimeline won't pay tipster!!!!

Mike Schillmoeller steered police to a homeless man wanted in a string of bomb threats. The Cocoa man, 22, contacted Central Florida Crimeline, a hotline that offered a $5,000 prize for information leading to arrests.

But Crimeline won't pay, reports Florida Today.

That's because when Schillmoeller and his dog Stoner found the suspect, David Disharoon, in a wooded area, he called 911 about 20 minutes before Crimeline.

Schillmoeller lost his anonymity when he called 911 and failed to supply Crimeline operators with a “tip,” said Crimeline's ExecutiveDirector Barb Bergin, reports Florida Today.

“Pretty much the next time if I find a wanted fugitive I’m going to let them go,” Schillmoeller told Florida Today. “There’s really no reason to help out. They want they public to help them out but they don’t want to return the favor.”

SAD: Mother claims Bong baby photo a joke? Child Protective Service is not laughing!!!!

A picture of an 11-month-old Keystone Heights baby appearing to smoke a bong has caught the attention of the Florida Department of Children & Families.

"We are alarmed that any parent would take pictures of their child next to what is obviously drug paraphernalia," said DCF spokesman John Harrell, reports Channel 4 in Jacksonville.

The mother 19, talked to Channel 4 in Jacksonville via Facebook. She said the pictures were a joke.

The message read, "If u look at the picture u can see that there is no bowl in the TABACCO (sic) pipe. And i took a pic to show one (expletive) person and it was a mistake. I would never ever ever let him get high," reports Channel 4.

DCF investigators said they have already been to the home twice.

Waste Of Money: Fan Pays $1 Mllion Dollars To Appear In Lady Gaga's 'Alejandro' Video!!

A Lady Gaga fan reportedly paid $1 million to appear in her new music video.

A Russian billionaire gave the pop singer the huge sum for the chance to star alongside her in the nine-minute promo for 'Alejandro'.

The wealthy admirer, who is only known as Arkady, can be spotted in the video playing a cop dressed in a black leather hat and coat.

The 30 year old said: "Yes it was me in the clip, but I can't give further details."

Gaga is also said to have been sworn to secrecy about his part in the promo.

The short film has attracted criticism for its religious overtones, which include the 'Poker Face' singer swallowing rosary beads whilst dressed as a nun.

Director Steven Klein insists the themes in the video aren t meant to upset Christians, saying: It s not meant to denote anything negative. It represents the character's battle between the dark forces of this world and the spiritual salvation of the Soul.

"Thus at the end of the film, she chooses to be a nun, and the reason her mouth and eyes disappear is because she is withdrawing her senses from the world of evil and going inward towards prayer and contemplation."

Prisoners cashed in on homebuyer tax credit!!!

More than 1,200 prison inmates, including 241 serving life sentences, defrauded the government of $9.1 million in tax credits reserved for first-time homebuyers, according to a Treasury Department report released Wednesday.

Treasury's inspector general also found that thousands of people filed multiple claims or made claims outside the allotted time period. In all, more than $28 million was improperly doled out.

The Internal Revenue Service program at issue is meant to stimulate the housing market by giving tax credits of as much as $8,000 to qualifying first-time home buyers.

"Additional controls are necessary to address erroneous claims for the credit," the report stated. "Further, fraudulent and questionable claims processed prior to implementation of controls will need follow-up action by the IRS."

According to the report, 4,608 state and federal inmates filed for these tax credits, and that fraudulent refunds were doled out to 1,295 of them.

The inspector general's report said the most "egregious" fraudsters were 715 prison lifers, including 174 who filed with the help of paid preparers. From this group, 241 lifers were awarded $1.7 million.

The problem was particularly bad in Florida: 61% of the lifers who got credits were incarcerated in the Sunshine State.

"It is possible for an inmate to buy a house while in prison," said Jo Ellyn Rackleff, spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Corrections. "We have inmates in Florida prisons who still have businesses outside. Many of the inmates have families with children who live outside."

She said that one of the reasons why Florida inmates feature prominently in the Treasury report is because the Florida prison system is transparent in providing inmate information to the IRS.

Chinese Police Close Hilton, Allege Prostitution!!!

Chinese police have shut down one of Hilton's flagship properties in China and arrested at least 22 people suspected of running a prostitution ring at the hotel, several news outlets are reporting.

Reports say police are investigating Quinglong Property Development Co., the owner of the Hilton in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, for alleged links to an underworld gang.

The U.K.'s Telegraph newspaper says the hotel's closure followed a raid on its karaoke club, It is not uncommon for karaoke clubs in China to be hubs for shady activity, according to the newspaper.

The hotel's reception desk told the AFP news service the hotel had been closed due to "unforeseen trouble", and would not reopen until July 6.

Police were reportedly interrogating many of the hotel's staff. The gang is also suspected of dealing illegal drugs.

Hilton International, which manages the property, said in a statement, "Hilton Worldwide abides by all laws in every country in which its brands operate and is fully cooperating with the investigation."

Police in Chongqing, a municipality of more than 30 million people, have been engaged in a wide-ranging gang crackdown, AFP reports.

Arkansas Jail Guard Placed On Leave After Posing Nude For Playboy Website!!

LITTLE ROCK — A Washington County jailer who posed nude for a Playboy website has been placed on administrative leave with pay.


Washington County Sheriff's Offices spokesman Kelly Cantrell said 21-year-old jailer Jessie Lunderby was placed on leave Sunday, the first shift she was due back at work since the sheriff's office began investigating whether she violated department conduct by appearing in the pictures.


Lunderby, who has worked for the sheriff's office since 2007, is being investigated for possible violation of department policy barring "conduct unbecoming of an officer" and for failing to get permission for off-duty work.

She appeared in a gallery that went online this month and describes her as a detention officer who wants to be an "undercover cop or (to) work for the drug task force.”

Cantrell said Lunderby will remain on leave until an internal investigation is complete. That process could result in any number of disciplinary measures, Cantrell said, including termination. There is no set timetable for a decision to be made.

In an interview with KFSM-TV, Lunderby said she told her supervisors about the shoot beforehand and that it wasn't an issue until after the photos came out.ArkansasOnline.com

Drunk Driver in car crash cracks open another beer while waiting to be rescued!!!

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) - Trapped after a drunken crash? Reach for another beer. According to a defense lawyer in New Zealand, that's what his client did. Paul Nigel Sneddon has pleaded guilty to careless- and drunken-driving. A local paper (Dominion Post) reports defense lawyer Peter Young told the court Sneddon popped open another beer while he was waiting to be rescued. Sneddon was trapped after flipping his car. Police say his breath-alcohol level was three times the legal limit. He was fined nearly $800 and loses his driving privileges for 10 months.

Lawrence Taylor Indicted on Rape Charges!!!

Lawrence Taylor's legacy crumbled further on Wednesday when the Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker was indicted by a Rockland County (N.Y.) grand jury on six charges including rape, criminal sexual conduct and sexual abuse.

The indictment follows his May 6 arrest at a Holiday Inn, in Montebello, N.Y., just before 4 a.m. Prosecutors say he paid a 16-year-old girl $300 to have sex with him.

The former New York Giants legend also was indicted on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and patronizing a prostitute. The alleged victim told investigators that Taylor verbally threatened her and physically assaulted her after she was brought to the hotel room by a pimp, who was later arrested by New York City police.

Taylor has denied the charges. His attorney, Arthur L. Aidala, said Taylor denied having sex with the girl, who was reported missing from her home in the Bronx in March.

If convicted, Taylor faces a maximum sentence of four years on a charge of third-degree rape, a felony.

Taylor was charged in Ramapo Town Court and the indictment now transfers the case to Rockland County. The 10-time Pro Bowler and the NFL's MVP in 1986 and Defensive Player of the Year in 1981, 1982 and 1986 is scheduled to appear in court on July 13 to address the charges and enter a plea.

According to Rockland County district attorney Thomas Zugibe, the 16-year-old -- who has been referred to as "Victim-1" in the criminal complaint -- told investigators that she had been verbally threatened and physically assaulted by a pimp who drove her 26 miles to the hotel where Taylor was waiting.

"One of the most effective ways to target prostitution is to go after the johns," Zugibe said. "This indictment underscores our serious commitment to prosecuting those defendants who create a market for the region's growing sex trade."

Aidala, Taylor's attorney, stood by his client's innocence on Wednesday.

"Mr. Taylor and his legal team made a strategic decision not to present any evidence to the grand jury, including him testifying or any witnesses in his defense," Aidala said.

Taylor's longtime business manager, Mark Lepselter, told the Associated Press they were looking forward to the legal process "and Lawrence being able to move forward with his life."

Already, Taylor's business interests are suffering as a result of his arrest -- the weight-loss company NutriSystem Inc. dropped Taylor on Friday, citing his legal problems.

The accused pimp, Rasheed Davis, has been charged in federal court with sex trafficking.

According to the federal criminal complaint, authorities said the 16-year-old did not know whom she was meeting at the hotel room. The girl sent text messages to her uncle saying she was in trouble, police said. He called the NYPD, who arrested the suspected pimp once he returned to the Bronx with the teenager. The girl provided information about the hotel.

Suliana Tonga accused of killing Jennifer McGinty with a vodka bottle for soiling her couch!!

Suliana Tonga is accused of killing Jennifer L. McGinty by hitting the 54 year old eight to 10 times in the head with a nearly full gallon bottle of vodka.

What did McGinty do to allegedly set off the 31-year-old Tonga? McGinty urinated and defecated on Tonga's couch, a witness told Independence police.

When Tonga asked McGinty if she was going to buy her a new couch, McGinty supposedly said no, the witness said. That's when Tonga allegedly started swinging the bottle.

A witness said that after the assault, Tonga asked again, and McGinty said yes.

The witness said the assault happened in the early morning hours of April 16. However, police weren't called to the apartment at 13851 East 35th Street Court until 4:26 p.m. on April 21.

By then, McGinty's body was stiff and cold. She had a black eye and bruised chin and forehead. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness told police that McGinty hadn't had anything to eat or drink for days. He claimed that he tried to get Tonga to call for help, but she wouldn't do it.

Other witnesses told police that Tonga admitted striking McGinty with the vodka bottle.

"I beat that bitch," Tonga allegedly told one witness.

Another witness claimed Tonga said she "beat the shit" out of McGinty with the bottle.

A witness claimed Tonga said that McGinty had been at the apartment for a few weeks and was supposed to be leaving soon -- maybe going to Virginia. The witness said Tonga uses people and was using McGinty for her car and money.

A witness told police that Tonga, her husband and another person had put McGinty in a bathtub after she "pissed and shit herself."

A medical examiner's report said McGinty died from "blunt force injuries of the head."

Tonga is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Heart Wrenching Event of Mask Face Baby Being Born in China!!

Kangkang, from China’s Hunan province, is being dubbed as “mask face” baby. Kangkang, 14 months old, was born with a double face, a congenital deformity called transverse facial cleft, also known as face horizontal cleft.

His mother, Yi Xilian, says the pregnancy was normal and after all tests had assured him that the boy would have no problems. But when the woman gave birth in a hospital in Changsha, Hunan province, doctors didn’t allow me to see my son at the beginning, and I pleaded with my husband to let me have a look. Before they passed me the baby, they told me ‘don’t be sad, don’t be sad’, but when I saw my son, I collapsed,” said a crying Yi.

Dr. Wang Duquan that accompanies the chance, explains that there is only possible causes, but no certainty about the boy’s deformity: an infection during embryonic development, a drug taken by mothers during pregnancy or who knows.

Yi said 20 days after the birth she took Kang Kang to visit a big hospital in Changsha, where doctors told her that the surgery would cost around 300,000 to 400,000 yuan (between 80 and 100 thousand dollars), but the family regrets not having that much to solve the problem of his son. The surgeries would try to equate the two divisions of his face, the deep muscle and then try to reconstruct the facial bones, but cautions that the results are unpredictable.

Kangkang was born in March , 2009. He now is treated at the People’s Liberation Army’s Military No. 163 Hospital only after his family accumulated enough money for the expensive correction facial surgeries.

Drunk Driver Plows into Multiple Bike Riders!!!

MONTERREY, Mexico - A car plowed into a bike race along a highway near the U.S.-Mexico border, killing one and injuring 10 others.

The 28-year-old driver was apparently drunk and fell asleep when he crashed into the race Sunday, police investigator Jose Alfredo Rodriguez said Monday.

A photograph taken by a city official showed bicyclists and equipment being hurled high into the air by the collision.

Rodriguez said Juan Campos was charged with killing 37-year-old Alejandro Alvarez of Monterrey.

Authorities said the wreck happened 15 minutes into the 34-kilometer race Sunday along a highway between Playa Bagdad and Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas.

Campos said he is an American citizen living in Brownsville. The U.S. Consulate could not immediately confirm that.

"We are looking into the incident in terms of whether American citizens were involved,'' consulate spokesman Todd Huizinga said.

A Fort Worth Police Officer was caught smoking marijuana in his patrol car while he was fully uniformed. Wesley Lamb is facing a misdemeanor charge for marijuana possession and a felony for tampering with evidence. Not like he is the first cop to do that. He tried getting rid of the joint when he realized he was going to be caught but it was too late. The police were tipped off by an anonymous source that Lamb was getting high in his cruiser which led to him being followed and caught. Sucks for him but I can’t blame him. Doctor Hands out Condoms with Teeth at World Cup!!!

Next time a rapist tries to get a sample of the snapper, he’s gonna be in for a big surprise. A South African doctor has designed a jagged female condom that snaps back.

A female condom with jagged “teeth” that grips a man’s penis is the latest device developed to catch rapists in South Africa, CNN reported Sunday.
South African Dr. Sonnet Ehlers is distributing the condom — called Rape-aXe — for free during the World Cup, in a country with one of the worst rape rates in the world. The condom is inserted by women like a tampon and its jagged teeth-like hooks inside attach to a man’s penis during intercourse. Once it grabs hold, only a doctor can remove it. Ehlers hoped this will help authorities to catch offenders.
“It hurts, he cannot pee and walk when it’s on,” Ehlers said.
“If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even tighter… however, it doesn’t break the skin, and there’s no danger of fluid exposure.”
During the World Cup she plans to distribute 30,000 of the free devices. After the trial period they will be sold for $2 each.

“The ideal situation would be for a woman to wear this when she’s going out on some kind of blind date … or to an area she’s not comfortable with,” Ehlers said.
Critics suggest the condom puts women at risk of further violence from men trapped by the device and reminded women of their vulnerability.Others accuse her of inventing a medieval device.

“Yes, my device may be a medieval, but it’s for a medieval deed that has been around for decades,” Ehlers said. “I believe something’s got to be done… and this will make some men rethink before they assault a woman.”

California is Broke, Wants to Sell Ads on Your License Plate!!!

Good lord California, is this seriously the kinds of ideas you’ve come to now? Selling advertising real estate on license plates as a way to raise cash?

Yes, it seems so. There is new type of technology that is essentially a fully electronic license plate. California wants to use this tech for their own purposes, purposes that are incredibly stupid if you ask me.

The device would mimic a standard license plate when the vehicle is in motion but would switch to digital ads or other messages when it is stopped for more than four seconds, whether in traffic or at a red light. The license plate number would remain visible at all times in some section of the screen.

And this is going to close a $19B deficit how?

Look, I’m not sure how much money you can haul in from stupid license plate commercials, that are too small to even be seen most of the time, but I have to say, wouldn’t the costs of electronic license plates be SIGNIFICANTLY higher than the standard metal ones that prisoners bang out currently? So either the state would have to pay extra, or it would be passed on to consumers, for the “privilege” of having their cars be walking advertisements. Idiotic.

California, two words to close that budget gap: LEGALIZE IT.

French Journalist, Quoting Nicolas Anelka, Drops F-Bomb Live on ESPN!!!

The French World Cup team is in absolute turmoil right now: not only has striker Nicolas Anelka been sent home for insulting coach Raymond Domenech, and not only are they 0-1-1 and at the bottom of Group A, and not only is the team refusing to train, but the director of the national team, Jean-Louis Valentin has resigned from his position, disgusted with the team's behavior and performance.

It stands to reason then, that the only thing to make matters worse is a French journalist dropping swear words live on ESPN. Unfortunately for the uber-professional Bob Ley, that happened on his watch, when Erik Bielderman, reporting for L'Equipe, provided coverage to the "World Cup Live" team.

Video of the interaction is below, but please remember two things. One, there are swear words, and two, the swear words are a direct quote of the confrontation between Anelk and Domenech.

Quick, paraphrased transcription after Ley's introduction:
It happened outside. Raymond Domenech ... asked [Nicholas Anelka] to answer to the tactical issue. And the response from the player was, uh, go to, uh, "go to [bleep] yourself, you son of a [bleep]."
Ley, naturally, apologized immediately for the statement, as is typically of his professional behavior.

The good news for ESPN is that Bielderman was providing a direct quote, so it's unlikely anyone will get in any trouble. The bad news, on the other hand, is all France's.

Caught On Tape: New York Cop Beating The Crap Out Of Iraq War Veteran!!

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Prosecutors have released potentially explosive evidence against an NYPD officer on trial for beating a man with his baton.

That alleged victim is an Iraqi war veteran.

Prosecutors are relying on the piece of video, because the alleged victim cannot be found.

Nobody is disputing the beating itself, or whether it's police brutality and whether the officer tried to cover it up.
The video is high quality and crystal clear, but whether Housing Officer David London went too far is still blurry and still up to a jury.

The video taken from security cameras shows the 45-year-old housing cop beating an Iraq war veteran with is baton.

It happened at an Upper West Side public housing development.

The alleged victim, 28-year-old Walter Harvin had just returned from Iraq and was at his mom's apartment complex.

In the video Harvin is seen shoving Officer London, and London then reacts by swinging and bashing Harvin with his baton. Even beating the ex-soldier after he's cuffed.

Prosecutors say London tried to cover-up the July 2007 assault, but defense attorneys say the officer did what he had to do.

He's charged with 2nd degree assault and filing false records.

Right now the Manhattan criminal jury is tackling the question on whether London committed an act of police brutality or used necessary force to subdue a suspect.

The Iraq veteran suffers from PTSD and his location is not known.

If the officer is convicted, he faces 7 years in prison.
