Tiger Woods: The One Billion Dollar Man!!!

|

Sorry LeBron. According to the calculations of Forbes, Tiger Woods is now the first athlete ever to amass a billion dollars. The title comes after a FedEx Cup win on Sunday where Woods took home the trophy along with a nice $10 million prize.

Estimates had the golf pro sitting on a cool $895 million at the start of ‘09, but after figuring in the year’s winnings and his annual $100 million in off-course earnings, Tiger was able to once again make sports history.
Most of Tiger’s money comes from a plethora of endorsements: he’s currently under contract with AT&T, Pepsi, Accenture, EA Sports, Gillette, Upper Deck, and more. Nike however is still his single most lucrative endorsement deal, shelling out $30 million a year.

He also rakes in $10 million per project designing golf courses around the world through his company Tiger Woods Design, and his bank account receives even more padding courtesy of the $3 million appearance fees he commands every time he plays outside of the States.

Perhaps the most incredible part of this feat is that Woods is still only 33 years old in a sport he could feasibly play well into his 40’s. At the rate he’s currently going, it’s likely that Tiger will become the first multi-billionaire in sports as well
