A record 16,000 plus Skinny dipping caught on Tape!!!

|

The old record for most people skinny dipping at one time was set last year, but it could be stripped this weekend.

The American Association of Nude Recreation has decreed that another world-record skinny dip take place at 3 p.m. EDT Saturday. Adult nudists, both skinny and not-so skinny, are encouraged to doff their drawers at a private pool or sanctioned nude resort or beach. AANR spokeswoman Carolyn Hawkins says that if all goes according to plan, the current record of 13,648 will be broken by as many as 3,000 additional nudists.

While people can participate in the privacy of their own home, Hawkins says that in order for Guinness World Records to accept their nakedness into the record book, participants must be witnessed being nude by at least two other people or have a notarized statement attesting to their lack of clothes.

In addition, since the "dip" is the key word in "skinny dip," the naked truth is, you have to be willing to at least go waist deep in the water.

That won't be difficult for people who live near the tropical waters of, say, Florida, but it could be a problem for those who live in Southern California, where the water temperature is a chilly 65 degrees and the skies have been unusually nippy this past week.

Still, Hawkins doesn't expect the weather -- hot or cold -- to keep anyone from being part of something greater than themselves.

"The weather won't scare anyone off," she said. "People want to be a part of history. If anything, the current heat wave on the East Coast could help attract more participants."

Meanwhile, Patricia Beach of BeachNude.org, an organization that advocates the creation of more nude beaches around the U.S., hopes the record attempt inspires a wave of new interest in public nudity.

"We currently only have six nude beaches in the U.S.," she lamented. "Most of the people participating will either be at resorts or at their own home. We have to get over this prudishness and set a precedent for future generations to be more open-minded."
