SICK: Man in Brazil imprisoned daughter for 12 years, had 7 children with her (video)!!

Police in Brazil say they've arrested a man who allegedly kept his daughter imprisoned in a thatch hut for 12 years and fathered seven children with her in a remote jungle village accessible only by canoe.

It's a case eerily similar to one in Austria, where Josef Fritzl was found guilty last year of locking his daughter in a dungeon for 24 years and also having seven children with her.

In Brazil, police say they were tipped off by an anonymous phone call and sent officers to 54-year-old Jose Agostino Pereira's house 10 days ago. They kept him under surveillance for several days, then moved in Tuesday to arrest him.

There they said they found Pereira's traumatized 28-year-old daughter with seven naked and malnourished children, ranging in age from about 2 months to 12 years, all unable to even speak.

"None of them were allowed to leave the house. None can read; they can barely communicate with other people," police inspector Jair Lima de Paiva told The Associated Press. "They were all threatened with their lives if they tried to escape or tell anyone about the situation."

"He confessed to everything," an unnamed police officer who helped arrest Pereira told the AP.

Pereira is also accused of abusing a young girl he had with his daughter. The alleged rape and abuse first began when Pereira's wife left him in 1998, Paiva said.

All of the children have been transferred to protective custody, and their father is in jail and awaiting charges in Brazil's Maranhao state, about 1,400 miles north of Rio de Janeiro.
