Man's excuse for strangling wife: ‘If you were married, you would understand’

Christopher L. Bukowski has been married for five years.

And it doesn't look like those five years have been the best years of his life.

His wife told police officers in New Port Richey that he tried to strangle her last Wednesday afternoon, reports the St. Petersburg Times.

"Arrest me," Christopher L. Bukowski, 39, told officers, according to a report. "I did it."

"I asked him why he did it and he stated 'If you were married, you would understand,' " the officer wrote, reports the St. Petersburg Times.

Bukowski was arrested and charged with domestic battery by strangulation.
