Lawsuit: Man bit into rodent bone in can of peanuts!!

|

Kent Weisenberg says he put a handful of Planters dry-roasted peanuts into his mouth at a party to celebrate his new Manasota Key home. He bit down into something so hard that it broke his tooth, reports the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

The 49-year-old Sarasota engineer immediately knew what broke his tooth. “It looks like a pelvic bone of a rodent, a rat or a large mouse,” Weisenberg said.

His tooth was cracked in half and there were root issues that required the skills of an oral surgeon.

Total cost: $15,000.

He thinks Kraft Foods, the company that makes Planters peanuts, should pay the bill.

He sent Kraft Foods a photo and a report from the forensic lab that tested the bone. The lab was able to determine that the bone was not in there when the peanuts were roasted. But it is coated with the same material as the nuts.

He has been disappointed with the response from Kraft Foods concerning the matter.

So Weisenberg is suing.

Weisenberg now says he cannot imagine eating peanuts again anytime soon — “It gives you the willies,” he said.
