Tiger Woods Considering $3 Million Haiti Donation!!!

(Jan. 14) – Scandal-plagued golfer Tiger Woods may be on the verge of making an enormous donation – $3 million – to help relief efforts in Haiti.

Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons told the New York Daily News, "Tiger Woods is working on sending a mobile hospital with 50 EMTs to go set up a triage."

According to the Daily News, Simmons approached Woods about joining forces with Yele, Wyclef Jean's Haitian relief organization. Simmons told the paper that Woods seemed "excited" about making a contribution.

Woods established the Tiger Woods Foundation in 1996, and has distributed millions of dollars to help children around the world.

Celebrity reaction to the earthquake in Haiti has been swift and widespread. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have announced they will donate $1 million to Doctors Without Borders through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

The Daily Beast reports that a charity telethon to help the victims in Haiti has been scheduled for early February. It will be hosted by George Clooney, and will feature Rihanna, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, Usher, John Legend, Mariah Carey, Jamie Foxx, Jean, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Susan Sarandon and others.

Major League Baseball will donate $1 million for earthquake relief through UNICEF, Bloomberg News reports.
