Mystery of Who Left Cash at Kmart Solved!!!

(Dec. 9) -- The mystery of who left a tin can full of cash at a Kmart in Des Moines, Iowa, has been solved.

A can sat on the customer service counter at the store for five days before employees opened it last week to find $10,380 inside. There was no identification on the can, and no one had come forward to claim it.
Meanwhile, Joe and Margaret Heithoff were about to search their garage for the can when they heard local radio personalities discussing the story, according to the Des Moines Register. Margaret Heithoff called the police immediately and then went to headquarters to retrieve it. Police say Mrs. Heithoff correctly identified other items inside the can.

The couple told the paper that Joe Heithoff, 69, had a bad reaction to some medication he took Nov. 29, causing him to leave the can full of money at Kmart.
"Now I have to go get something big and spectacular for the people at Kmart," Margaret Heithoff told the Des Moines Register.
