2009 BET Awards Recap: The Newspitter Edition

The night that was supposed to be a tribute to the late Michael Jackson the 2009 BET Awards left more to be desired from the over three and a half hour long show.

The Awards opened with a lackluster performance of Jackson 5 classics by R&B group New Edition. Surprisingly, the group was joined by New Edition member Bobby Brown A.K.A the crackhead who is rarely seen with his fellow group members.

The audience witness atrocious performances by R&B sensations Keri Hilson and Beyonce who had very differing performances. Keri’s performance was an energetic rendition of her single “Knock You Down” the best part of this sad performance was her BOOBS giggling in her V neck tee shirt. while Beyonce’s performance included an operatic recital of “Ave Maria". Lead the audience questioning "Why the hell will Jay-Z sit there and watch his girl disgrace herself on public T.V".

Ne-Yo turned out to be the star of the night with his heartfelt musical tributes to Michael Jackson including a stirring rendition of “The Lady In My Life”. Another star of the night was Jay-Z, who performed “D.O.A.” alongside a live band. One of the more bizarre performances of the night included Lil Wayne, Drake, and other Young Money artists performing “Every Girl” while Lil Wayne’s daughter and her friends danced on stage???!! BAD BAD IDEA

Towards the end of the show Janet Jackson grief-stricken, but very well composed told fans “To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. He will forever live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love, thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much. Thank you so much."

The show was ended by a tribute performance of the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There” by Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo.

Breaking News: Micheal Jackson Just Died!!!!!

We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon and paramedics were unable to revive him.

Breaking News: Farrah Fawcett just passed away!!!!!!

Although, it was obvious towards the end of her documentary; that Farrah Fawcett was struggling in her battle with cancer; it's still a surprise to me - that she died, because, of her resilient spirit. One can not help but be very proud of this woman's courage, as well as, her lesson to us all - that life is worth while, regardless, of our situations. Our heart goes out to her family and friends. Dr. Colin Hamblin, AIM's medical director [said] the porn actress first tested HIV positive on June 4 and worked the following day for reasons he said were still being investigated. A second positive result came back Saturday. And the clinic is awaiting results of a third and final confirmatory test, he said.

Hamblin described the woman as having had two recent sexual partners, a fellow porn actor who worked with her on June 5 and her boyfriend, who is not in the porn industry. Those men have had sexual intercourse with an additional six people, who have all been notified and offered testing, he said.

ROME, Italy (CNN) -- American college student Amanda Knox took the stand Friday in an Italian courtroom, defending herself against charges that she took part in the killing of her roommate two years ago, her lawyer said.

Knox, 21, from Seattle, Washington, distanced herself from the confused and conflicting deposition she gave to police just days after her roommate, British student Meredith Kercher, was found dead.

She said she was under the influence of marijuana when she spoke to police and did not realize at the time that her police interview was on the record.

Kercher's body was found half-naked in her bed Nov. 2, 2007, at the villa she shared with Knox. Prosecutors have said Kercher, 21, died in a "drug-fueled sex game" with Knox and Knox's then-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito.

Kercher suffered a knife wound to the neck. In court papers, prosecutors alleged Sollecito held Kercher by her wrists while Knox poked her with a knife and Guede sexually assaulted her.
