Fox 411 is reporting that inappropriate text messages from Kanye West to Kim Kardashian may have been a contributing factor in the Kim/Reggie Bush break up:

“Reggie saw text messages on Kim’s phone from Kanye West and flipped out on her. The texts referenced a night they hung out, how much fun he had, how hot Kim was, and more racy things that got Reggie’s imagination running,” says the source. When Reggie confronted Kim about it, the couple had a huge blow-up, and jealousy issues, which had been pretty much kept out of their relationship until this incident ,surfaced, according to the insider.

PARIS (AFP) – Biomedical researchers on Wednesday said they could explain why we swing our arms when we walk, a practice that has long piqued scientific curiosity. Swinging one's arms comes at a cost. We need muscles to do it, and we need to provide energy in the form of food for those muscles. So what's the advantage? Little or none, some experts have said, contending that arm-swinging, like our appendix, is an evolutionary relic from when we used to go about on all fours. But a trio of specialists from the United States and the Netherlands have put the question to rigorous tests. They built a mechanical model to get an idea of the dynamics of arm-swinging and then recruited 10 volunteers, who were asked to walk with a normal swing, an opposite-to-normal swing, with their arms folded or held by their sides. The metabolic cost of this activity was derived from oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) production as the human guinea pigs breathed in and out. Arm-swinging turned out to be a plus, rather than a negative, the investigators found. For one thing, it is surprisingly, er, "'armless" in energy costs, requiring little torque, or rotational twist, from the shoulder muscles. Holding one's arms as one walks requires 12 percent more metabolic energy, compared with swinging them. The arms' pendulum swing also helps dampen the bobbly up-and-down motion of walking, which is itself an energy drain for the muscles of the lower legs. If you hold your arms while walking, this movement, called vertical ground reaction moment, rises by a whopping 63 percent. Should you prefer to walk with an opposite-to-normal swing -- meaning that your right arm moves in sync with your right leg and your left arm is matched to the motion of your left leg -- the energy cost of using your shoulder muscles will fall. The downside, though, is that opposite-to-normal swing forces up the metabolic rate by a quarter.

Stolen Body Turns Up in NJ River!!!

A body found in a New Jersey river this week belonged to a 2-year-old girl whose remains were apparently stolen from a grave in Connecticut. Two men fishing in the Passaic River on Sunday afternoon in Clifton, N.J., found a girl's body in a bag at the shoreline. An investigation led authorities to the grave of a girl who was buried in Stamford in 2007.

Authorities exhumed the grave and found an empty coffin.Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin would not release the child's identity but said authorities believe she was properly buried.Police do not consider the girl's family suspects and said they appeared shocked to hear that their child's body was not in the grave, Conklin said.The grave appeared undisturbed, but the coffin was damaged, an indication that the theft wasn't recent.Police have no suspects and no clear motive. The body was in "remarkably good" condition,and police were looking for any signs that it might have been used in a ritual.

Microsoft Chairman and Founder Bill Gates has stopped using Facebook and has delete his account after being hassled by thousands of fans. The Chairman was inundated by over 8,000 friend requested a day and thousands of loan refinance requests fueled by the mortgage meltdown. Chairman Gates became so hooked on the site that he decided to invested $240 million regardless of valuation just to own a piece of it. He spent about 30 minutes a day chatting with friends and searching the site (ah that’s where he got the idea to buy a search engine – more about this in another post). A Microsoft spokesperson said that Chairman Gates hasn’t deleted his account, but that he has stopped using it because he was inundated with friend requests. However, another Microsoft spokesperson said later that sadly Chairman Gates has had to close this account.

"You can broadcast to millions of people, who can respond and influence that media," Kutcher said today at the Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference in Pasadena, California. In April, Kutcher famously amassed more Twitter followers than CNN; he remains ahead of the network. "I thought it would be pretty profound if i could pass CNN as an individual, as one voice," Kutcher said. "I didn't realize it was going to become a media show, but i did, and that's all right. Whether or not I'm more relevant than CNN, I highly doubt." Kutcher, who co-founded production company Katalyst Films, said billboard-type advertising, such as display ads, will decline on the Web: "People who have grown up on the Internet have trained themselves not to see it." Stephon Marbury is one of the most unique personalities in the NBA. Some like to categorize him as crazy, but he's really just refreshingly open and honest in letting us know what's going on inside his head. And thank God for that. Because in an unprecedented act of either self-promotion or unfiltered access, Marbury has decided to interact with fans live over the internet, via a video channel on the Ustream web site. Going on Ustream isn't new, but the amount of time Marbury is committing to it is: he's planning on sticking it out for 24 hours. The show's live right now, and has been since early this morning. Its topics range from politics to religion to music, and of course, there's even a little talk about basketball. Sure, there's the occasional NSFW subject that comes up, but for the most part, it's just Marbury talking cleanly about whatever comes to mind, and responding to the comments random people are submitting via the site's chat feature. There have already been too many hilarious and classic moments to mention here (NBA Musings has been keeping a transcript), so I recommend checking it out for yourself, like, immediately. The video has peaked at just over 2000 simultaneous viewers, and trust me, that's extremely low for the entertainment value that Marbury's providing. Steph may no longer be relevant as a basketball player, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a more riveting character in the league that can carry a "show" like this for as long as he has -- six hours and counting, at the time of this writing.

Obama Tries to Quell Racial Uproar!!!

President Barack Obama said Friday he called the officer who arrested black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. and explained that he didn't mean to malign his department when he said officers "acted stupidly." The conversation with Sgt. James Crowley, ended with Obama inviting the two men to the White House for a beer.

President Barack Obama concedes his words — that a white police officer "acted stupidly" when he arrested a black university scholar in his own home — were ill-chosen. But, while he invited both men to visit him at the White House, Obama stopped short of publicly apologizing for his remark. The president personally telephoned the two men, Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Cambridge, Mass., police Sgt. James Crowley, in an effort to end the rancorous back-and-forth over what had transpired and what Obama had said about it. Trying to lighten the situation, he even commiserated with Crowley about reporters on his lawn.

Honestly though this is a step in the right direction, we can't always look at negative happenings and put more dirt on it...its a good start to coming together for a common cause!

Since July 1, Ben Southall, 34, has served as the caretaker of an Australian tropical island after winning a contest for the coveted gig. Here, Southall tries out his new bed on Hamilton Island in Queensland a day after winningthe competition in May. Under the terms of the contest he won, Southall is supposed to explore the islands of the Great Barrier Reef for six months and report back via blogs, a photo diary, video updates and interviews. But since starting the job on July 1, Southall has only posted seven blog entries, The Courier-Mail newspaper reported Thursday. According to Tourism Queensland, which arranged the contest to generate publicity and lure visitors, 94,000 people had signed up for updates on a Web site. Tourism Queens said media requests for interviews and travel for his job had kept Southall constantly busy since his arrival in Australia. "He's handling the role extremely well and we're currently looking at ways in which we can free up his schedule to ensure he has enough time to really savor the experience and the unbeatable Queensland lifestyle," Tourism Queensland chief executive Anthony Hayes said.

NYC INMATE SUE OVER 23-HOUR CELL ISOLATION!!!

A lawsuit says New York City's Department of Correction has violated jail regulations by isolating inmates in protective custody for up to 23 hours a day in their cells. A judge was scheduled on Thursday to consider a request to declare the policy unlawful. Correctional experts say the 23-hour lock-in is common throughout the country, despite research that shows solitary confinement can be psychologically harmful. Outgoing Correction Commissioner Martin Horn began the so-called "close custody" of 23-hour lock-ins four years ago for inmates designated as needing protection. The lawsuit says Horn is violating city jail regulations, which would limit inmates in protective custody to 10 hours confined to their cells a day. The department says it doesn't comment on pending litigation.
